The shape and lines of our logo reflect designs found on the “McElmo black-on-white” pottery made by people who lived in the southwestern United States roughly a thousand years ago. Its texture suggests a pictograph etched into red sandstone and flecked with colorful lichens.
The logo is designed as a three-circuit labyrinth with a spiral at the center. Labyrinths have been used since prehistoric times when looking for answers to life’s mysteries and problems, and following a labyrinth’s path inward to the center and out again serves as a moving meditation. The spiral gives a spiritual dimension to that quest.
